RIVET

A rivet is a small metal fastener with a shaft and a head. In clothing, like denim jeans, they're used to strengthen areas under a lot of stress, like pockets and seams. Usually made of tough materials like brass or steel, they're set by passing the shaft through fabric layers and compressing the other end. Rivets make clothes, especially jeans, stronger and more durable, preventing damage in important areas and adding to their rugged design.
